Booster Shots Diminish the Immune System
European Union regulators have warned that frequent booster shots of Covid-19 can adversely impact your immune system and might not be safe.
Every four months, Dose boosters can ultimately weaken your immune system and wear out people, as per the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
Instead, the countries should allow longer between booster programs and link them to the beginning of cold weather across all hemispheres, adhering to the guidelines set out by strategies for influenza vaccination, The agency stated.
The recommendation comes as some countries are looking into providing people with additional shots to boost their immunity to provide additional protection against escalating Omicron infections.
In April, Israel became the first nation to start giving another booster or fourth shot to patients who are over 60.
Britain has confirmed booster shots provide adequate levels of protection, and there is no need to take a second booster shot right now. However, the government will look at information as it develops.
Enhancers “can be done once, or maybe twice, but it’s not something that we can think should be repeated constantly,” said Dr. Marco Cavaleri from the EMA’s head of biological health threats and strategy for vaccines during an event for journalists on Tuesday (Jan 11).).
“We need to think about how we can transition from the current pandemic setting to a more endemic setting.”
DURING THE BRIEFING, this EU regulator also announced that oral and intravenous antivirals such as Paxlovid and Remdesivir remain effective against Omicron.
The agency has stated that April is when it will be able to approve a brand-new vaccine that targets a particular variant since the process typically takes between three and four months.
Some of the world’s most potent vaccine makers have indicated they are considering making vaccines targeted at new varieties of the disease.
