CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department safely secured a suspicious package in Uptown on Sunday, April 10th.

Officers received a call regarding a suspicious package left unattended near the intersection of Trade Street and Tryon Street at approximately 11 a.m.

Officers responded to the scene immediately to shut down the surrounding area and cleared the public from the scene.

 The CMPD Bomb Squad and other Charlotte units arrived soon after, rendering the package safe. 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
